At Fems Gems, We strive to give the best crystals and care!
There are some safety disclaimers to give before purchasing, so please note the following.
Intended use: The crystals and crystal products are purely intended for decorative and spiritual uses.
Keep in mind these are no medical devices or toys (for kids and 18+).
Crystal Jewelry:
- Keep your crystal jewelry away from harsh chemicals, including perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products, as these can damage both the metal settings and the crystals themselves.
- Clean your crystal jewelry gently using a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water and mild soap if safe for the specific type of crystal. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners unless you know they are safe for your particular stones.
- Remove crystal jewelry before engaging in physical activities (like sports or heavy lifting) to prevent accidental damage or injury.
- Periodically check your crystal jewelry for any signs of wear, loose settings, or damage. Addressing issues early can prevent further damage.
You will receive a care instruction card with every jewelry order you place at Fems Gems.
Water Safety: Not all crystals are water safe. Some (like, but not restricted to: Malachite, Realgar, Bumblebee jasper) can release toxic substances or even disolve in water.
Please do not use your crystals to make "Crystal water" because there can be polishes on the crystals that are harmfull. The energetic work can still take place even when not in your bath, bottle etc.
Before cleansing your crystals with water, make sure your crystal is safe to cleanse with water.
Choking hazard: Small crystals / parts can pose a chocking hazard, particularly for young children or pets. It is essential to keep these out of reach. The same apllies to small crystals with sharp edges and crystals with loose parts (jewelry)
Allergy information: Some minerals / can cause allergic reactions to the skin.
When you experience sensitivities, please check the product description and take this with you to your doctor.
Fragility:
- Crystals have varying degrees of hardness, measured on the Mohs scale, which ranges from 1 (talc) to 10 (diamond). Softer crystals (like gypsum at 2) can be easily scratched or damaged, while harder ones (like quartz at 7) are more durable.
- Many crystals exhibit cleavage, meaning they can break along specific planes. This can make them more susceptible to chipping or breaking if struck or dropped. Understanding a crystal's cleavage can help in handling it carefully.
- Some crystals can be sensitive to extreme temperature changes. Rapid heating or cooling can cause them to crack or shatter. For example, placing a cold crystal in hot water may lead to thermal shock.
- Certain crystals are sensitive to chemicals and should be kept away from harsh cleaning agents or substances that could cause damage. For instance, selenite is soluble in water and should not be cleansed with water.
- Crystals can chip or break if they fall or are subjected to heavy pressure. It's important to store them safely and handle them with care to avoid accidents.
Energy work/ Beliefs: Energy work with crystals is a personal journey that can enhance your spiritual practice and foster self-awareness. It's important to trust your intuition. These practices are not scientifically proven and may vary per person.
